In a reno we will cut the existing wall to .900mm approx. 3 feet in height. then put a floor supported over this wall to form a loft style bed over the stairs. Could someone tell me how to cut the existing wall in this program " Pro". to make a wall just 900mm heigh. Many Thanks Robyn
  2. I think I have worked it out you actually need to be in a camera view for the icons in toolbar to work. Hope this helps someone else. click 3d icon select create perspective view select full camera

    Caravan plans

Thankyou David I will have a look at 3D warehouse. I did look at sketchup and that is a lot of learning which I do not have time for. It might be back to the drawing board.

    Caravan plans

Hi all has anyone designed a caravan with HD Pro and can it be done? A camping group I belong to have asked me to design a few different types of caravans. A tear drop and other small vans. The vans must have an enchanted curve to them.
  8. Wow This is great info. Is there a video tutorial on tracing over Cad 2D plans? I looked but could not find it.

    Roof top garden?

Hi I just tried to do this I put a flat roof onto the end of my drawing In "Plan View" I went to plant chooser and selected herbs. I then tried to place the plants on the plan. When I looked with the camera the plants were on the ground. Naturally LOL this programs not silly.... In perspective view I selected the plants and changed their above ground height. You should group select the plants and make an Architectural Block and add to your library. When you hold the shift key and select the plants a small colored box will be on the bar in the bottom left corner of your screen. Once you have that block click on it and Open it. The open command is a small "Book" icon in the left hand bottom side of your screen. Then you can from that screen change the floor height of the plants. However someone else may have a better solution as I am still learning Pro

    Plan colours

Hi all in photo one:- Is the way a quick floor and site plan looks in HD Pro. In photo 2 and 3:- This is the way our local Real Estate agents like to present a plan layout of existing properties for sale. My question are:- 1. I cannot workout how to colour the wall outlines in solid black. 2. How to colour the rooms. 3. I need to remove the grid lines for the screen shot once I have drawn the plan If I have not explained this is a manner you understand please let me know. Many Thanks in advance Robyn
  13. There is a video that shows you how to place a picture of a plan and draw your plan next to it but I cannot remember what it was called. Try searching the knowledge base for tracing. I do not think we can trace in this HD products but I am sure that is what I used as my search word when I was looking. I will have a search now and come back here if I can find it for you. However the other thing you can do is re-size each wall. Start with the outside walls and be sure to click on the direction icon before tapping the enter key. See photo of the size icons arrows. It is best to save your plan with another name before learning about these arrows and the way they change your walls. I found they can change other wall positions if you click the wrong arrow. I also found it best to change the external walls as I draw them, one at a time. When you have the entire plan drawn all kinds of things happen as you are changing the sizes.

    Painting a wall

I often have this problem too. I close down wait a while and re-open the plan. One thing I have found is you do not need to break wall at both corners.
  16. Well I wrote some instructions for you and they went somewhere unknown also I use metric but when you build that second floor you need to change the ceiling height to what ever height the outside walls are they looked about 5 feet in the photo so I changed the wa;; height via the ceiling height to 1500mm. This might be clear as mud but have a play. My photos should give you an idea of what to try. I don't have time to re-write the instructions and it depends on what program you are using. Best of luck its hard when you are trying to create a plan and there is no video to show you what to do. The day will come where you can work your way around most situations hang in there. This forum has some wonderfull people that go out of their way to help. As Mick said post more photos or your plan. x
  17. Build 1st floor Build second floor Move wall in on the second floor add and external wall to second floor on the short side of the building then manually change the roof of the small out-dent section.

    Fence re-sizing.

I have worked it out. You can re-size as you are building the fence style with the library pieces but once you make a block you cannot change the size. That's sad, I hope I am wrong.

    Fence re-sizing.

Hi My client has decided on the type of fence she wants and on the weekend her son cut the existing picket fence to lengths of 1500mm (five feet). My issue is I am unable to size the fence pieces that I have made a block for and added to my "User Library": I have also tried to rebuild the block with the standard library fences. The program allows me to turn them and adjust the heights but not the lengths. What am I not seeing clearly. ? The inner sections between the fence posts need to be 1500mm ( Five feet) and each post is 125mm (5 inches) . Many Thank Robyn
  20. No apologizes needed Mick. Your help is always welcome and even through I do not always understand what you are telling me, your comments always get me thinking and I am usually able to work through the subject. Therefore all forms of instruction are most welcome. Many Thanks Robyn. My next question is resizing I have posted a new topic and look forward to your replies. x
  21. Hi Mick I watched Davids video again with what you had explained to me in mind. I think the reason I was safe was, I did not change the Pattern I only changed the texture. By only changing the texture it did not change my default material. A great lesson has been learned here by me, many thanks again to you and David.
  22. Beginners and teenagers know it all. LOL Thanks Mick. In this case I have a tiled roof so I was safe. I greatly appreciate your concerns and have ran some test plans . Someone upstairs must have been watching over me. x David great video many thanks. x

  24. Thanks Mick. I did not get exactly what You meant but I got a great idea from your reply. In the hope that this post helps others , here is what I did. As Mick told me I wend to vector view of my fence samples. It can be selected under 3D scroll down to Rendering Techniques. I clicked on the corrugated roofing on my fence. Then On the define materials tool. Its a coloured ribbon next to the $sign near the eyedropper. Then have a look at the photo I have numbered my steps. Good luck. Thanks Mick you got my brain a working. x
