  1. You are very close! Move your roof planes so they form a gable; then, add a wall in the attic that is under the roof planes. BTW I noticed the roof planes are not in alignment; see the left side
  2. Try editing that page number on Page 0 of the layout sheet. That is the master sheet; whatever is on that page, will be on all pages.
  3. See if this Clerestory how-to article helps https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00492/building-a-clerestory-skillion-roof.html
  4. Take your "as-built" plan and save it as your "remodel" plan. Then, do your remodeling - adding/removing walls etc.
  5. Did you check the option to print in color?
  6. You could place two cabinets opposing one another back-to-back. Take one of them, and remove the front face items leaving only an opening.
  7. Material transparency was removed in Home Designer 2026. Many of the new materials now have material maps; and when there is a map, the transparency control did not override the map and make any change. So, that setting was removed in favor of using the new materials in ray trace views. If you feel strongly about it (I see you must with upper case in your post), let us know by sending an email, and we can relook at the feature - suggestions<at>chiefarchitect.com
  8. Can you post your plan so we can look at it?
  9. Do you have the automatic roof on; have you edited the wall top? Maybe post your plan so we can see what's going on.
  10. Doug, here's what I looked at, refer to the images. 1. I turned on the Auto Rebuild Roofs 2. On floor 2, I extended your wall across, so the roof would build symmetrically 3. Placed a shed dormer and adjusted the windows. It's a floating dormer; if you want a structural dormer, which seems likely here, you need to draw walls to connect it (refer to the help system if you need)
  11. You could also use a stair landing and set the radius.
  12. Did you send the view to the layout as a 'live view' or 'plot lines'? Plot Lines will be a crisp view.
  13. Sandra, I think how you have done this looks good. The angled front is not a good fit here. I did this on a past project in a similar way.
  14. You might try to reset your toolbars. I'm not sure if that option is in 2024's preferences (it is in 2025 / 2026)
  15. Geoff, in the roof plane, you can lock the plate height to the level you want. Manual roof tools can provide a lot of flexibility in creating unique roofs. I typically start with the automatic roof tool and then modify them as needed with the manual tools. Your plate height is probably different because of the popout entry? I noticed several of the foundation walls were not aligned with your main 1st floor which can create issues when generating the auto roof. Also, for the auto roof tool, many walls seemed to be toggled hip/gable in conflicting ways. In the attached image, I used the auto roof tool after addressing those issues. To troubleshoot, turn on the auto roof tool, then simplify your design by removing the garage, entry and others until you get those areas looking the way you like; then, add them back. You can do that by disconnecting a wall from the main house to break the room connection.
  16. Ryan, it does not look like there is a hotkey in Home Designer assigned to the interior wall. You can see the available list of hot keys >Tools >Create Hotkey List
  17. Doug, it seems to work fine in my views. Try taking a doll house camera as your initial view. If it's still an issue, contact our tech support group.
  18. Doug, my guess would be a camera setting. Can you post your plan?
  19. On your porch railing walls, uncheck the option that they are 'terrain retaining walls' (they are meant to be at the level of the terrain).
  20. Is it under the terrain? Maybe post your plan.
  21. Here’s an article on daylight basements. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00718/modeling-a-sloping-terrain-for-a-walk-out-basement.html It seems to work okay for your scenario.
  22. Wall lengths for rooms is best set using the dimensions (not inside of the wall DBX). See this article to learn more. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00245/setting-exact-wall-dimension-lengths.html
  23. You will need to use a custom countertop. See this how-to article https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00890/placing-an-apron-sink.html
  24. Maybe try using the Joist Direction Line tool on the floor below.
