  1. Dear Rookie65, I did not see your response until after reading Solver's. Sorry - didn't mean to ignore your suggestion. Thank you for your feedback! Linda
  2. Dear Solver - that's what I was missing - reframing the deck after changing the absolute elevations!!! Thank you!! ;-) Linda
  3. Thank you for responding, Solver. I've played around with those elevations and it changes in the preview but not in the plan. Just had this thought - do I need to "reframe" the deck, then?? Linda
  4. I am drawing a deck for a client that has two levels. The lower level is even with the threshold of the door however the second level is one step higher. I cannot get the second deck to go higher. I don't need the terrain to change, just the height of the deck to change. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!! 5. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jo Ann!!! It worked!! Side note - I'm outside of Columbus Ohio....where are you?
  6. I am drawing a deck with a center plank that divides the deck planks in two. Both halves of the deck planks are at mirrored 45 degrees. I have not been able to figure out how to divide the deck planking and to get the planks to go in the direction that my client wants. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!! I am using Home Designer Pro 2023. Thanks much, Linda
  7. Thank you, Keith for your response and input. I will play around with your suggestions and see if I can make them work. Linda
  8. I am working with a contractor who notches the support posts and places two (2) 2x12's in the notch as the beam. Has anyone figured out how to notch a auto-generated beam or a work-around? If I don't show the notch/beam placement, it will affect the height of the deck in plan view. Thanks for any help on this, Linda in Lancaster
