  1. Hi Brad , yep I understand you want a concrete slab for the weight room , what I was referring too though was the fact that you have designated the Room Type as Slab in that Area which may have unexpected side effects as a Slab Room is a Hybrid Room Type, though I am not 100% sure it effects you in this particular situation. Well you are just down the road, next time you are in C. d'Alene, call into head Office and ask for help M.
  2. might have to try tech Support , I deleted your 2nd floor and redrew as a blank new floor and there are still no walls showing on the 2nd floor , but roof is complete on floor 1 weird..... will play more later if I have time... M.
  3. not sure why you have the fitness room and closet etc labelled/designated as Slab?
  4. the reversed wall errors are due to the LH Porch column though they appear to be the correct way around at least when I click on them the ext. side (edit handle) is too the outside. but there is an issue inside that entry , I see OSB anf the RH columd top appears angled while LH colmn is flat topped ie hits the ceiling.... I see no issue with room heights they all appear to be 109 1/8 under the bad area, Kat's "fix" doesn't work for me, not 100%, infact it makes worse? , the Bad area over garage heals but the part over the front entry/office/kitchen gets screwed up. Terrain appears to be about a foot low looking at porch slab and garage doors... Try the Lower wall if roof butts setting in the Living room/Masterbed Wall wall's DBX to fix that.
  5. I think you need to use the corner handle , not one of the side handles of the image , did you do that? Post the image you have and let someone else try it and see perhaps... might be better to start your own thread if you have specific issues M.

The garage appears to be set at the wrong Floor Elevation Robyn , possibly it has risen up ? and the soffits have stayed where you placed them as their height is set off the main floor height I believe. At least I see no foundation on the Garage and the floor appears higher than the front door.... What I see of the Palm Tree does look to be a 2D image but there are 3D libraries available, I found a large library online but someone else will need to confirm the name , I think it was called Tenkoo's 3D Plant library but I saved the file as TK Plants so can't remember accurately. M.
  7. you don't have the broken wall connection icon following your cursor around do you? M.
  8. not sure it is your disappearing walls issue but check your Ref.Manual for Energy heel (page 447 in mine) the setting must be minimum of 8" , I usually set it to 10" as you need 2" above the insulation (R40) for airflow out of the Soffits too. (HD does not model the insulation baffle as far as I know but a note on the plan would suffice.) if the Plan file is over 25mb it wont upload, so zip it or delete stuff from the plan until it can be posted if needed, eg the terrain. ( use a copy of your plan , not the original) M.
  9. I agree Kat , the Automatic Tools can save a lot of time if you understand them , but it is nice to have Pro as you say to fix any issues or out of the ordinary situations if needed. Johnny ,Kat's advice in post #2 is how it's done , all Roofs will build to the default pitch in the Build Roof DBX, you need to set other pitches in each wall's DBX if you need it different from the Default Value. Do the Roof tutorials and check the video's , this is the quick primer on basic roofs http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00359/52/Home-Designer/Roofs/Automatically-Building-the-Basic-Roof-Styles.html M.
  10. what were you trying to do with the raise/lower 6" height in the Roof DBX ? energy heel trusses? sometimes its best to post the plan , so we can download it and have a look
  11. Thanks Kat , had not seen that new KB Article.... M.
  12. you should start your own thread wrenchmaster , also you should state you Tiltle/year and the OS used as it can make a difference in the answer , ie MAC does not do .skp I don't think? but does do .dae ........but not all titles can import .skp's though Pro can. but in answer.......you either import the .skp ( file menu) or you can drag and drop the file into the plan view , once there you can save it to your Library for reuse if desired.
  13. HD has a built in Herringbone Pattern you can use when you come to defining your new material but I have never seen it at 30°, though you can play with the Pattern angle on the same tab. M.

Robyn , you have been here long enough to know we need pics and possibly the plan to be of any real help to you..... did you use 3D trees ? or 2D images of trees, they may not work great.....
  15. Are they turned on in Display Options? in the view you require them.....every view has a separate Display Options DBX. M.
  16. Are all your Rooms heights the same ? this effects roof lines... Post the Plan file so we can look at it
  17. Sounds like the OLD " 12" Roof line height BUG " too me try lowering it 11 7/8 " try lowering it 12 1/8" does it work? many posts on the old forum about this , perhaps here too , Evolution was doing a Medical Centre about 6 months ago with bump outs like this for the Treatment rooms , had the same issue...
  18. this KB Article may help but I am not sure HD can model a double trusses roof , ie a scissor truss with the decorative truss under it. What David meant was that the PROGRAM needs a roof and a flat ceiling to model a truss , it wont build otherwise, you then later remove the ceiling from the room, see the KB Art. it should enlighten you. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00417/
  19. Robyn is right it is best to size walls as you go if possible , it is far less frustrating than trying to adjust dims later. M.
  20. Download the User Guide ( and Ref. Manual) available through the Help Menu and work your way through the Tutorials, that should give you a good jumpstart on things. The Cabinet options in Pro are very customisable , and different templates already come with different cabinets styles setup , though you can make your own and save them to your Library for reuse too. M.
  21. I may get corrected but AFAIK neither HD of Chief can do Inclined Walls , it is a feature that has been asked for many times over the years , though not used by many so it has never been integrated into Chief's Products. There maybe a "workaround" for say a single wall , but not a whole building end as shown....

    Painting a wall

post the "bad" plan perhaps ... should work just like your Test house.... M.
  23. in preferences >appearance>library browser you can set the library window up how you like , ie tiled ,scrollable and whether you want the windows stacked (pic below) or vert./horizontally arranged etc. The Buttons on the bottom of the library window also help toggle this on and off etc. M.
  24. Get 7zip , the 9.20 version works great and is free be sure to get the x32 bit version ( or x64bit depending on windows version) Jo Ann has included all the textures etc so extract into the folder 7zip offers in the RC menu rather than "extract here" otherwise you will have files all over your desktop. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
  25. thanks for the feedback Sue if you need it the Xvid codec is here https://www.xvid.com/download/
