Lots of info on the Home Designer website available via a search.

Probably related to how the walls are defined. If you just want to clean up the 3D visual, I'd patch it with a soffit, or even a Custom Backsplash set to Cut Finish Layers.

So you agree that to manipulate a basic salt box type roof without Pro is really not viable
I did not say that. You can do quite a bit with Suite, if you understand the program and how to work with its limitations.
I cannot imagine designing a house with innovative wall layers, interfaces, and advanced framing using Suite or Architectural.
Pro is very capable and probably all you would need to do construction documents. Chief Premier has many additional features that make the work easier/faster etc, but the core is essentially what you have with Pro.
One thing you might consider is buying Premier, then selling it at the end of the project.

Architectural and Suite have about the same roof tools. Pro would make it simple.
You could rent Pro for a month to finish the design and do your construction documents.

I cannot then remove them from the plan
Can you explain "remove them". Do you want to delete them?

I thought these Bonus Catalogs were included with the "Pro" verison for $60 a month
What $60 a month are you referring to?
Your question might be best addressed to Chief directly.
Many catalogs can be downloaded free of charge, some are available for optional purchase, and some are only available to Chief Architect Premier users with active Support and Software Assurance (SSA).

Could you point us to that phrase in the documentation?

I have not been able to use a framing tool that will rotate around the axis

Why not use a framing member like I show?

I have been unable to select the framing member and have it have a rotation handle on Z axis...it will rotate on x or y axis
A picture of what you want, or a verbal description always helps.
I'll make a guess.
What would happen if you select a framing member, lets say a 2x4 from a wall, open it and change it into a 4x2.
Does that make sense?

Is there a way to draw framing members at a "Z" axis angle?...or a way to rotate the framing in "Z" axis
What happens when you try?

I did not look at your plan, but search my YouTube channel for backsplash for an idea for the braces.

Open a wall and review the structure panel. Settings are there. Check Help for specifics.

You would get better help if we could see what you are trying to model. A head on picture taken from the street does not provide enough detail.
You must do this with walls and use a doorway or window etc to create the arch.
You don't need to use only walls. You can use soffits too. Walls and soffits can share the same space, or soffits can be positioned on the wall to give you something to place a molding on.
Try to think of the tools you have available and what they are capable of, then use them as needed to build the model.
With Suite, you have limited options, so you need to make up for the shortcomings of the software.

Try setting the floor and ceiling defaults in the terrain plan, then copy the house to it using Edit Area.

Any idea what I've done, or better yet, how do I fix it?
Read in Help about Reference Display.

Currently the ranch style home has the main level and basement merged.
Could you show a screen capture so we see what you see?

I opened the plan and checked it for him as a courtesy. I'm not sure why it's not working either and suggested he contact Tech Support. Here's the plan for whatever it's worth...
I opened the plan you attached in Pro 2021 and was able to make all sorts of changes.
-
And just a FYI. The plan did not need to be updated to X12, it just needed to be opened and that Allow For Editing flag set. Any version from X6 on could have done it.

The following "allow for editing" was also checked by the person who sent me the X12 update drawing. Any thoughts and or recommendations?
How do you know it was checked? I've never seen this not work.
Could you attach the plan file and I'll take a look.

Your terrain is fine where it is. It gets created on the floor you are on when you create it.
