ChiefUserTom7
I'm using Home Designer Pro 2023. I can't seem to get the stairs to draw on the basement level. When I try to draw the stairs from the basement patio to the patio on the main floor the stairs are placed at the level of the main floor rather than starting at the basement level. I've tried changing the floor level to no avail. I don't find any place to change the height of the stairs when I open the stair object. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? DavidJPotter
The software is programmed to create stairs only from where they start. If you want to travel from the basement to the first floor, you draw the stairs on the basement level (Level "0"). If you want the stairs to travel from the first floor to the second, you create the stair object on the first floor, it then reaches the second floor. ChiefUserTom7
I’ve tried this and the stairs always appear too high. It’s as if they revert to the main level. They appear one level above where I want them to originate.
ChiefUserTom7
Here's a cross section of the stairs. I plan to convert to brick stairs. I need a landing at the bottom and 1-2 steps to the lower level. I can't seem to place the bottom step at the lower level.
DavidJPotter
If you open the stair dialog you can uncheck "Automatic Heights" and then set the top or bottom of the stair object manually. DJP

ChiefUserTom7
I only fool with this occasionally. This is a hobby. I have the stairwell completed, but for some reason the stairs do not seem to end up in the proper place.
