Creating ICF interior walls

Hello,

 

I'm a complete novice. I am trying to design a house built with ICF inside and out. ONly problem is I can find exterior walls made of icf, but not interior. How do I find these walls when I want to make the interior walls constructed from icf as well? If I change the interior walls to icf - they come up as exterior walls in the program.

Thanks. I think I've filled out my profile and signature correctly. I don't really know what to put there as I've just started. I'm new to this program. It is Chief Architect x 6 Premier 2015. I am learning as I go, but having trouble with the icf interior walls. I've looked for an option to have interior walls made of icf, but cannot find it. Any advice will be really appreciated.

ChiefTalk is the forum for Chief Architect users. Repost over there for the best help.

 

The short answer is, you may define any wall (within reason) and use it as needed.

Eric is right Coralie , Chieftalk will get you better answers it is the Pro Forum , you can use the same ID and password to sign in over there.

 

- but you should be able to copy the existing ICF wall , then rename it Interior ICF Wall and then redefine the wall as needed for thickness etc

 

- have a look in the Reference Manual ( help menu link) for Wall definitions and copying ,saving new wall types etc.

 

- If you are a new user ?  the User Guide on the help menu will help get you started as will the Chief Videos online and their Youtube Channel here:

Chief Architect X6 comes with several ICF wall types by default. Are you sure you have Chief Architect X6? Default wall types in X6 are found under "Edit - Default Settings - Wall - Exterior Wall Drop down" and you can create custom wall types or edit existing ones to suit your building needs.

 

Home Designer Pro 2015 has one default ICF wall but like Premier any wall type can be edited-altered to emulate what you need.

 

Take another careful look please.

Thanks Guys. I will take a look at editing the wall. I didn't know you could do that and couldn't find an icf interior wall in the drop down list. As I said, I'm a complete novice and having a go at this for the first time. I didn't realise I was posting in the wrong forum. Sorry about that, but thanks so much for all your help. I'll have a go at editing the interior walls then and see what I can come up with.
