NoviceNancy
I have a plan for a square building with a simple gable roof that comes to a peak over the front entrance. A deck wraps around 2 sides of the building and I want to put a shed roof over the deck on the front of the building. (Actually, I would like it to wrap around and cover the whole L-shaped deck but that seemed more complicated.) I have been able to define the deck as a room and checked the option to put a roof over it. The software just extends the main roof over the decks. I tried following the example in the knowledge base, surrounding my deck with invisible walls and defining the roof characteristic for each wall but nothing I've done has created a separate roof. Can anyone help? I've attached the plan. CoffeeShopPlan.plan

NoviceNancy
That is exactly what I am trying to do.
solver
You will need to raise the gable roof way up to get the shed roof under it and allow the auto roof builder to work. Go here for info on doing the shed roof.
NoviceNancy
How do I make HD create a 2nd roof instead of just extending the existing roof?

NoviceNancy
That looks kind of weird. I was hoping to achieve something like this photo. RanchHouseRoof
LawB10
That's because the main buildings pitch is set to 3" and the deck roof is set to 1/4" you can change them to what you want.
