How to remove base molding on one wall or surface

I have a stacked stone fireplace surround and cannot get the room base molding off just the stone walls. Same goes for the "soffit" I used to create the hearth, base molding on it as well.

 

All I can manage to do is have no base in the room at all or base around the entire floor.

Try a search for remove base.

Set the side walls of the surround as "no room definition" and the base board goes away.

Use a slab, box shape, or even a custom countertop for the hearth.
