ChiefuserLarkin
Hi everyone, so I turn off auto rebuild foundation. I had to move a garage door to another spot, when I did this it wouldn't cut the foundation, it will if auto rebuild on. Anyway around this? Thanks Jason
LawB10
Align the foundation wall manually. With Auto rebuild off, any exterior wall you move will have to be aligned manually
ChiefuserLarkin
No it's moving the foundation wall, it's the automatic cutout it makes for the garage door in the foundation wall.
LawB10
Post the plan please. You turned auto rebuild off, what ever it did automatically, you will now have to do manually.

LawB10
see #4 or click rebuild foundation, uncheck room supplies floor for the 1st and foundation floors and reset your defaults
ChiefuserLarkin
I unchecked room supplies floor and reset the defaults for the basement. Still doesn't fix the cutout for concrete. If you click aut rebuild foundation it wipes out all the interior framing walls.
Jo_Ann
Like LawB10 said, you need to realign the front foundation wall of the garage. Drop to level 0, turn on 'reference floor' display. Zoom in and drag that front foundation wall as close to align with wall above as you can get. Then right click and select 'align with wall above' to let the software make an exact alignment. Back on level 1, open the garage door dbx, and click 'ok'. Like magic, the garage door will now cut into the concrete as expected.
ChiefuserLarkin
Ugh tried that! Still doesn't cut the concrete and even if you remove the door and add a new one it still won't cut the concrete. When open the garage door dbx don't have to do anything but click ok? ChiefuserLarkin
and is auto rebuild foundation still off?
Jo_Ann
I did the steps I indicated on the plan you submitted, without changing any of your existing settings. If your garage door is not cutting the concrete, then the foundation wall must still not be aligned. Do a doll house view and zoom in on the floor area at the garage door (inside). If there is no concrete wall beneath the exterior level 1 wall, then the garage door will only build within the exterior 1st floor wall (because there is no concrete below to build into). In your plan, it looks like there are a lot of your foundation walls that are not properly aligned.
LawB10
Are you trying to put a garage door in the basement? Is there a reason that the floor structure is 20 3/4 " ? Can you post a picture of what the problem is? Lastly your gonna have to rebuild the foundation, it's not correct. Save the plan as 1830 Ranch-1 and rebuild the foundation, then compare the numbers to the original plan.
ChiefuserLarkin
JoAnn, post my plan that you got it to work in. In the doll house view it shows concrete all the way up to where the garage door would be placed and cut. Everything is aligned. LawB10, the structure is correct now. Jo_Ann
HD trial versions do not allow anything to be saved, so I can't post the fixed plan. The best I can do, is to show these pics of the plan you posted, showing the problem foundation wall (gap).
ChiefuserLarkin
I don't have the trial version, have HD Pro 17. Yep and wall/foundation lines up now. Followed the steps posted and still won't cut the concrete. Lesson learned, don't turn off auto rebuild foundation until main level completely set in stone. Jo_Ann
The trial version I am using is HD Pro 17, and I fixed this using YOUR plan, just like I said. Did you change anything after you posted the plan? You can always re-download the plan that you posted, and see if there is a difference.
ChiefuserLarkin
Ahh, you're using the trial version, got ya. yeah I'll try the plan I downloaded to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help

Solution ChiefuserLarkin Posted September 12, 2016 Author Solution Share Posted September 12, 2016 The floor to SWT was off, the floor was down by the footing. Set the floor to SWT to 4" and boom concrete cut. Jason
