Locking Down Exterior and Interior Walls

Recommended Posts

How do you "lock" walls in place, once you have final interior and exterior wall locations?  (to prevent accidentally dragging walls)

Lock the layer they are on. Search Help for specifics if needed.

It helps if we know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2014, 2015 etc) you are using. You can add this info to your signature by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click My Settings, then Signature on the left.

When a layer is "locked" you may not move or edit the objects on the locked layer in "Display Options". When walls normal is locked you cannot create any new walls or edit the walls that are present, you may not be able to lock just one wall, it is all walls or no walls.

Unlike AutoCAD you can lock each wall individually.

I haven't ever accidentally moved a wall, so I really wouldn't worry about it too much.  ;)

However, I believe if you upgrade to Premier, then you can place individual walls on their own layers and "lock" them.
