Post the plan? Setting that front wall to full gable should work. It's what I did in post #12.

The simplest way with Pro is to manually draw a roof plane where you want it.
-
If you could comment on this image -- let us know if this is close to what you want.
-
Remove the roof and ceiling (uncheck in the structure dialog) from one of the rooms, and the slab goes away. Put the roof and ceiling back and the plan looks correct.

A picture, and or better description is needed. Does the dormer open to the room below? Is it full width? ...

Alan -- Search the forum. Your question was answered a few weeks ago.

Select the cabinet, then TAB. That should select the sink.

Could you explain what you are trying to create. An image would be helpful. If there is no room, why are you wanting a floor?
-
Chief and HD Pro are much alike and you may benefit from many of the videos aimed at the Chief user. There is much good info in the Knowledge Base. Chief has many good videos posted on YouTube. I learned by watching every video I could find. Here is good one on roofs.

I assume there is a room above the porch if you want to "extend the second floor to cover this". On the second floor, draw walls to form a room where you want the floor. The reference display (F9, or Tools>Reference Floor>Reference Floor Display) may help.

Here is the plan. It should open in the Pro trial. Troy Barn v1.plan

I used a truss for this. Not sure if you have this option in Architectural.
-
Post the plan for better help.

I'm curious about what you are wanting. Would you like to visually truncate the stair when it intersects a wall?
-
First picture seems to show a deck at the footing level. As Mick said, delete the unwanted, and make sure you are on level 1 when drawing the railing.
-
Try View>Status Bar and View>Toolbars

A picture would really help. Generally, you don't Drop, you Draw railings that are not from the Library, just like drawing a wall, which is what a railing really is. By default they will be drawn at the correct elevation.
-
Question is a bit confusing. You may change the height of a rail in the Wall Specification dialog.
-
I believe the best you may do is set the fill on the stairs to Transparent. This will show what is under them.

Do you have the options shown in the image?
