Separating window casing from the window sill

Does anyone know if the window casing material can be separated from the window sill? I'm trying to have the casing painted (showing yellow) but the sill remain dark walnut which is original to the structure.

You might try eliminating the interior sill to keep the casing, then use a soffit to make a sill. Then you can make that the walnut color. It's a thought anyway

One way to separate those materials is to open the window specifications, go to the Sill/Threshold panel, and select a sill from the Library. Once you select one, it will show it separately under the name of the molding profile in the Materials panel.
