DaveP2024
Help for a beginner! I'm using HD Pro 2019 and want to lower half of a shed roof without changing the lower half which is continuous with the rest of the house. The main roof pitch is 6/12 but I would like to lower the height of the high shed roof wall buy bringing the pitch down to 4/12. Nothing I've tried works. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks! solver
Video shows Pro 2024 -- the oldest I have installed, and while the basics are the same, there may be some fixes in new versions that make things work that did not work previously. This is also really simple to do with the manual roof tools. Remove the upper pitch setting in the front wall and build the roof. Drag the back roof plane out of the way. Draw a new roof plane starting at the ridge going towards the rear. Open it, lock Fascia Top Height, and adjust the pitch. Cleanup as needed. DaveP2024
Eric, a thousand thanks! Your help is invaluable and I love the roof design you suggested, an obvious (once seen) and simple solution that we are going to use. After seeing how you were able to change the upper pitch on the shed roof I realized I was mostly doing the same steps in HD Pro 2019 but it wasn't working. I downloaded the trial version of Pro 2025 and it worked just fine, so I guess we will chalk this one up to "out of date software problems". Again, many, many thanks!
