Seattleite
Hello, I'm trying to build my U-Shaped stairs in Home Designer Pro 2024. The issue I'm having is that the landing 'floats' outside, between the 1st and 2nd floors. As you can see in the interior photo, the beginning of the landing is aligned with the main exterior wall. In the exterior photo, the yellow arrow is showing the underside of the landing, sticking out from the main exterior wall. The blue line/arrow shows where the floor on the 1st floor is. I have attempted to use the U-Shaped stair tool, but sticking the landing outside of the exterior wall results in a weird floating landing that is not enclosed by any exterior wall:
Jo_Ann
The reason your landing is not enclosed by any exterior walls, is because you have not built the exterior bump-out (walls) that are shown in the pic of the real house. Build the bump-out, and the landing will then be placed inside that bump-out.

How can this be fixed?
Jo_Ann
Do you think that if you open the bump-out room, and on the structure tab, raise the floor???

Unfortunately I can't seem to select this as a room When clicking on the stair landing then hitting tab it goes: Stair landing -> Wall -> Room (in this case, the entire main floor) Is there a way to somehow define this as a room? Jo_Ann
Did you delete the original house exterior wall, where the stairs meet the landing?
