Mikebaglini
I'm using Home Designer Pro 2024 and have put so much time into this garage plan. I'm trying to get the views saved and put to a layout to submit to the county for approval and my builder for a price. I'm hung up on displaying a wall section, as it seems that the only thing that displays with any of the orthogonal clips are the framing. I have built a stem foundation consisting of a footer and three courses of 8" wide CMU with a 4" slab. Then on top of the stem wall I have a pony wall 36" high, consisting of 6" wide CMW with brick facing. On top of that I have the framing. The only thing that shows up in any elevation is the framing. I don't see any cross section of anything below the framing, no pony wall, and no stem wall. I have turned on Foundation in the display layer options. I have default set to display in plan view. What am I missing? I keep coming back and struggling with this and am stuck. Thank you. Mike
DavidJPotter
Each active camera type while engaged has its own"DisplayOptions" dialog similar in appearance to the default on seen while working on a .plan file while in planview mode. Everything visible in a .plan file can be made to be actively visible or invisible at your choice. Cross sections fit in this category as well, in that great detail can be added using 2D CAD overlays over the surfaces along with annotations of the 3D model camera view. AutoCAD the grand-daddy CAD program still operates and does most of what it does using only 2D CAD. It is an easy way to make your elevations and cross sections look more professional and detailed. Rookie65
Section views are typically done as perpendicular to the wall, not orthogonally. Are the walls you're using a custom wall type? Might want to look at their structure, or post your ".plan" file so it can be looked at, rather than people having to guess.
