itsElaine
We have designed a 30 x 40 one story cabin. The foundation and floor framing shows a beam (they call it a rim joist) across the 40 foot length but no support under this beam/rim joist. How can we add extra support to the foundation plan? I attached the views from above and underneath for the floor joists and foundation. Thank you.
solver
@itsElaine Tell us what software you are using. No idea what your first image is showing, but neither look correct for a 30x40 cabin. Have you had someone engineer the foundation and floor structure, or are you doing it yourself? You might attach the plan file for the best help. Close the program before attaching (and Zip if it's over 14MB).

y-g-m-n
ask en engineer what you need for that span to support ceiling joists or if 2 story floor joists. That length you are looking at steel or glulam or such. Also it could run the short span and then beam smaller but joists larger.
