Gable roof with high walls

Recommended Posts

How do I build a roof where the gable end walls extend above the roof? (I'm not sure what this type of roof is called) I've attached a photo showing the result I am trying to get.

Easy to do in Pro, but anything less, just set the overhang for the gable ends to be very small and see if you can get away with using a resized Isometric Wedge from the Shapes folder in the Library.

Thanks for your reply. I am using Pro 2017. How would you suggest doing it? I've tried a few things but I can't get it to look right.

What specifically are you having trouble with? Are you comfortable with manual roofs?

Good suggestions depend on knowing what software you are using. Please fill out your signature (see below).

It helps if we know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2014, 2015 etc) you are using. You can add this info to your signature by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click My Settings, then Signature on the left.

I'm using a  manual roof and drawing a wall on the attic floor. However I can't figure out how to slope the wall.

Take an exterior elevation of the end wall. Select the wall. Use the break tool (3 on keyboard or icon) to break the wall polyline as needed. Use the handles to shape it.

Once the first is done, copy/reflect to duplicate it on the other end.
