GaryJTF
I have a two story design - main floor is a garage and second story is living space. I have Home Designer Suite 2017. On the second story I want to include a cantilevered deck. When I installed the deck, the program automatically included several posts to support the deck - these posts will block ingress/egress to the garage. Is there a way to extend second floor joists out a selected distance to accommodate a cantilevered deck? See attached screenshot. Thanks a bunch. GaryJTF
Problem solved - I assigned the deck space as a "balcony" vs. a deck. GaryJTF
Jo_Ann
Doesn't that remove the floor structure too? If you want the framing to still show, reset the room as a 'deck' Use the paint can to 'paint' the posts that you want to remove (choose some gawdy color that you will never use in this plan). Then select them with the rainbow tool, and increase the transparency to 100 percent. To remove the post footings (with the 3d window the 'active' window), on the toolbar -- Tools/Display options. Scroll down to 'post footings' and uncheck them.
