John_T
I am just getting started (exterior wall) but cannot find how to set a wall length - so it will not be dependent on a wall I add later? Currently every time I add a wall it changes the prior wall length.
katalyst777
The way this software works is with connected walls. Get the overall shape right first, then precisely position the walls relative to each other using dimensions. (Go through the User's Guide under your Help menu if you haven't already, it does a good job of explaining this.)This video helps to explain as well.https://video.homedesigner.chiefarchitect.com/?search=move+walls
hummin
Coming from a CAD background, I was confused by how this software works with regards to inputting walls as well at first, but it works if you can set aside your preconceptions of how you think it should function and don't fight the design. This online resource is one that explains how. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00245/setting-exact-wall-dimension-lengths.html
