How to get a better material list

I’m looking for help refining my material takeoffs. Currently, the software generates a general list that isn't field-ready. For example, it lists 2x6s at impossible lengths (like 53') rather than breaking them down into standard vendor lengths based on joist and rafter spans.
Additionally, my last takeoff was short on stud counts and had inaccurate measurements. Does anyone know how to adjust the settings so the material list automatically breaks at the joists and reflects realistic ordering lengths? I’d really like to improve the accuracy of my lists—any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if it's still the same as in '21, but I believe this "feature" was limited to Chief Architect.

It was telling me I needed some ridiculous length, so I asked about this like 5 years ago, but didn't get an answer, apparently.

there is a setting somewhere - defaults or ??

where you can change the material to a cut list which would then show every item and length

what you have now is TOTAL board feet to buy.

When I do the cut list it doesnt do anything its the same as the buy list which according to chief architect they said it should break it down to what the store should sell it for which doesnt make sense because they dont sell them for that long.
