    fill in between the cathedral ceiling and the 2nd floor flat celing.

    OK - so I use 'pro.'...successfully as a 'pro'....

    Move the handrailing out of the way - build a wall in the opening and then shape it, viewing it in section/elevation,  to the ceiling profile...

    Now install the handrailing back as it was. This could work I think.

    This is a suggested method....I dont like downloading users files.....otherwise I'd have a go for you with this as a solution.

    Cheers.

    "wide angle lens"

    In the Full Camera Defaults - see Positioning and insert a wide angle 'field of view' - Standard is usually 55 degrees but you can set it as wide as you like.

    Works well for me.

    trying to find a path (import/export using multiple apps)

    Export the dolls house 3D view as a .dxf - and go to a dxf to .svg converter app.

    Scalable Vector Graphics, .svg -  files for web use .

    See DXF to SVG Converter.

    I have saved or exported dxf model views for my use but only in black and white line drawings.

    This may not suit your needs.

    etc so that later I can change all the doors easily?

    I just use the spraygun (material painter) with the 'material painter plan mode' selected, and you can change the same parts of objects in one click?

    I do it all the time with window and door frames etc when deciding on which colour suits the design best;

    No need for extra layers.

    I don't think the softwares is like cad

    See page 182 in the Reference Manual - see Help.....

    Quote

    Transform / Replicate Object Dialog....

    - it does the mirror command so much better than just CAD.

    Is it possible to put text on a 3D shape? Say for instance, a building name on limestone panel?

    I bought this library for a specific project - it's great value.

    i would like to make a section of my house more higher to have a slope roof but I don't know if I'm capable of that

    So are you asking on how to build a skillion or single pitch roof - as per the topmost floor in the sample design photo you posted?

    Thanks.

    (PS I thin you guys call this roof a shed style?)

    no matter what i do

    Try this ...See Reference Manual....

    Note - 'Roof Groups' are found on the 'General' tab of a Room Specification.

    ROOF GROUPS When an automatic roof is generated, the program tries to create roof planes that join together to form a single, integrated system. Different parts of the structure influence how the roof is generated over the whole.

    When you need the roof planes over an area of a plan to be entirely separate from those over the rest of the structure, you can assign those areas to a non-default Roof Group. The program treats different Roof Groups as separate buildings for the purpose of automatic roof generation, preventing their roofs from influencing one another.

    Bear in mind that the use of Roof Groups typically involves using a combination of both automatic roof generation and manual roof editing, and that changes to Attic walls may also be necessary. See Using Both Techniques on page 557.   Roof Groups are assigned using numbers.

    The Default Roof Group is always 0, and you can assign rooms to other roof groups in the Room Specification dialog.

    See General Panel on page 300.

    now want to add an addition to the model.

    I just create some new wall definitions that define the difference between an existing wall and a new wall;

    There is also a wall hatch tool that I have used to differentiate a particular type of wall - say 'exisitng', on my drawings.

    Hope that adds some thought on the subject for you.

    Jeff.

    PS - Make sure the layer Walls, Hatching is on - to show it.

    Does Home Designer run on an iPad?

    I understood that it needs to be an application to run on an iPad? Home Designer Pro is not an App.

    It would be grand if support could offer some confirmation here on this?

    Jeff.

  11. So what is the benefit of using an allocated point? The elevations cannot be manipulated in the layout other than by guesswork or clever eye judgement- as none of the snap points are available from my use? (or that help) Conventional orthographic projection and good practice drafting (here) provides for elevations and sections to be aligned with corresponding floor levels (or similar);  Having a midpoint of an image or elevation sent to layout aligned doesn't really cut it - does it? Do you guys not work similarly with your drawings?

    This drawing (attached) I aligned the views by guesswork (by eye) and is in no way accurately represented between each view - which it should be. ( IMO)

    Done in Home designer Pro - not Chief Architect. (BTW)

    Look again at the 2nd image I posted above. Experiment with leaving the % off. What happens?

    Well, when I use % signs code - all I get is as its typed - with the % signs. Including the % signs before and after each factor;

    Its just as easy to enter the details manually as you go, on the fly, as it were  - for my work.

  13. Wow - so much discussion on such a simple matter - Any custom materials I have created on the fly are automatically saved in the 'User Catalog'.....So where is the issue?

    Once they are located there they can be accessed in any plan.

    These new materials can be filed into folders to suit ones individual needs and classification etc.

    Am I missing the question here? (again?)

  14. No need for the % coded typed in entry's in Pro 22 - type in what you like under 'specify label' - the window displays custom notes etc. as customised.

    Or is this for some preset automatic tag to windows other than the preset?

    Happy labeling.

  15. I have had 2 similar errors running 2022 out of nowhere with similar graphics card?

    All was working perfectly, and is again presently, apart from these 2 incidents.

    Feedback from support was to update the drivers (x2); waiting input now from Asus also;

    I'll look into your solution.

    Thanks for posting.

    The new rendering engine has migrated from being based on OpenGL over to Direct X 12 for Windows and Metal for Mac.

    I have the 2022 updated HDPro version now and the rendering is noticeably better, the ambient light is more balanced, the materials are crystal sharp and clear. I'm impressed with this alone for the price. You can't knock it for value for money compared to other runners in the field in my opinion. After dollar conversion it cost me $140AU.

    The saving of unique text notes to library is also a nifty addition for my work. One simple tool that means a lot.

    Well done Chief.

  17. Create a new wall type as 'existing walls' that mimics the new walls;  but change the wall background color so its identified differently as the existing building part; there is a wall hatch tool that just hatches walls on the fly;

    That's exhausted my capabilities;

    Good luck.

  18. Maybe this framing thing would be better as a technical question to CA support?

    It looks a bit weird from here. So the frame is maybe 18-24" lower than the floor level?

    You might need to upload your plan file for others here to delve into a solution for you.

    Don't give up on it.

    Problem solving is part of the learning curve I say to myself often.

    Especially when time is not on your side.

    Cheers.

    a library for shade sails.

    There is a purchasable library of Exterior Sail Shades in the Exteriors and Landscaping section of the additional library's at CA;

    (Additional - because these are additional to the core library's.)

    You get there thru the Libraries\Get Additional Content Online tab in HDPro.

    I have used the sails and connector object's and all work very well. They look great.

    Happy sailing.
