How to build this full gable roof ?

Hi,

I just bought a house from 1960 and tried to draw it in Home Architect Architectural 2025. My aim is to have some kind of digital twin so I can simulate light/heavy renovation on computer.

I managed to make most of it so far but I'm struggling with the gable roof. I tried to lower the ceiling but wihout great success.

On my last try, the roof is somehow there but it should be lower and roof line should not be centered as you can see on the good old paper version. Project is attached.

 

Is it possible to design this roof in Home Architect ? If yes, how to proceed ?

You'll need to upgrade to Home Designer Pro in order to draw manual roofs

For auto build roof,  read up on "salt box roof" in the Knowledge Base.

I kind of manage to do it, it's nearly as good as the original house. I followed the KB "salt box roof" and remove ceilings in 2nd floor + reduce the "rough ceiling" heights.

 

I only have a weird "roof part" on the other side of the house. Any idea ?

Is your wall aligned with the wall below?

 

The 2nd glass house image does not match the roof of the 1st glass house image (on the right side).

Hey @Jo_Ann, it was in fact an issue with the walls. I had to define the same "rough ceiling" value for the stairwell as for other rooms in 2nd floor and voilà !

However, you haven't fixed the roof on the right side of the house.

In the 1st glass house pic that you posted, you had it right.
