Dimensions of walls when building walls

Hi i am new to the software and trying to plan a new house. How do i make the software calculate wall sizes based off the final wall finish (i.e the plasterboard surface). As i draw the external walls and enter the dimensions i then notice that its creating the wall from the internal stud and not the finish wall surface. This means as i then start building internal walls when im trying to create a wall thats 1000mm from the external im entering 1000mm but its actually 980mm from finished all to all as its calculating from the stud surface instead.

For example i want to make this internal wall to wall space 2800 and not 2825

And when building this wall i wanted the external wall to measure 1200mm from the corner of the wall to the corner of the 90deg wall (shown in red).

This is HDP, I don't know what version you are using. You can change the dimension defaults from wall layers to surface and also change from the primary side to the secondary side of the walls.Capture.thumb.PNG.707ba1661fb37b637dbf278dbedacad5.PNG

The wall definitions you can dimension to the plasterboard layer.

always best to dim from wall studs as that is what built per dimensions and framing crew will need that info.

Sheet rock is just laid on the stud wall so they do not need to be dimensioned.

Now if you are measuring exsiting just add 2 times Wall board thickness (1/2" in USA) to dims you actually measured to get to stud dims.
