Window Header (Lintels)

I always seem to have an issue with the height of my window headers . They always frame down from the top double plates about 5 inches or so instead of framing tight up against the double top wall plates . Even when I change the window top height from 80" to 84" the header remains the same.

What am I missing ?

Any help would be appreciated. thanks

That's a limitation of the Home Designer products. Headers are always just above the opening.

No it isn't . I simply rebuilt framing and that worked fine.

I don't why I didn't think of that before.

I was referring to you cannot choose where the header goes. It always is placed just above the window. Some builders like it always placed up against the top plates, which is an option in Chief, but not in Home Designer.

 

Of course you need to rebuild, or have auto rebuild framing on to see changes.
