Invisible Wall impression left on Foundation

I'm having this problem any time I create a porch. The edges of the slab, where the invisible walls are located, leaves a step down around the edge of the slab. When I mess with different features and try and get it to smooth out, it does (see picture). Then about 3 seconds later, it pops back down. It seems like a glitch, but maybe I am doing something wrong. It definitely makes the finished 3D look less than ideal. Hopefully there is something I am doing wrong and way to stop this from happening.
