deerwood8
Using HD Pro 2015, have created a vaulted ceiling with roof trusses above, ceiling has v board under trussses. Want to add four decorative beam king post trusses below ceiling. One on each end of room and two spaced evenly between.
DavidJPotter
Trusses require a flat ceiling to be created at all (no ceiling = no truss) so the thing to do is to replace the flat ceiling in your room, set up the defaults on the kind of truss you want, create the trusses, lock the truss layer then remove the flat ceiling. I have done this many times but it must be done in the proper sequence as I laid it out above in order to work. DJP
deerwood8
Thanks Dave, but I do not have a flat ceiling, the current truss are scissors type with the ceiling following the underside slant of the truss. I want to add additional trusses below this current ceiling that are decorative.
Kbird1
this KB Article may help but I am not sure HD can model a double trusses roof , ie a scissor truss with the decorative truss under it. What David meant was that the PROGRAM needs a roof and a flat ceiling to model a truss , it wont build otherwise, you then later remove the ceiling from the room, see the KB Art. it should enlighten you. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00417/
