rocky01
Ok here is my dilemma. The calculated square footage that is done by Home Designer Pro 2014 does not add up in my mind correctly. If I do an interior living area calculation for the basement I get 1410 sq/ft. The living area calculation that home designer comes up with is 1526 sq/ft? Same issue for the main floor. If I add all the rooms up manually I get 1327 sq/ft. The living area calculation home designer comes up with is 1480 sq/ft. This is even more confusing because the basement foot print is the same as the main floor. Hope someone can help out. solver
Take a look at the attached image and notice how odd some of the numbers seem. The first is Standard Area, the second is Interior Area. Here is a KB article that might help. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00552/
Kbird1
the default measurements you see do not include the width of any of the walls , so a fair bit of missing sq.ft perhaps depending on the plan, so see Eric KB article for changing that and the issue of 1st floor vs 2nd floor is, either there is a room that by default isn't included in the living area calc. or you have accidently unchecked or checked the living area calc. button on the general tab of the Room DBX ( use room default is the default).
