ChuckWedel
I have Home Designer Version 9.0 and I am having trouble creating a shed roof. The plans are for an outbuilding, 24 x 36, with 2 bedrooms and bathroom on the second floor. The gable dormers are on the front (done that), and the bathroom will be in the in the back, under the shed roof. Can anyone help me? You can call me on cell at 703 216 2060. Thanks! ChuckWedel
Thank you, Solver! I have Home Designer Pro 9.0, and will attempt to add that information to my signature (I am not very technical, as you can tell...). Thanks!
solver
Since you have Pro, why not draw the shed roof manually? Here is a video that may help.
ChuckWedel
Sketcher, I tried to create the shed dormer both manually and automatically,, and I couldn't get either to work...
ChuckWedel
Here's a photo, shows the roof, but can't get the walls to build. Thoughts?

ChuckWedel
Yes, but I couldn't follow it, the guy was super fast...
solver
I can't tell from your image, but it looks like there is a roof below your shed roof. You need a hole in the lower roof, or simply move it out of the way.
ChuckWedel
I will try that and let you know - thanks!

ChuckWedel
I figured out how to delete the roof plan below the shed roof, but now I can't get the pitch right on the shed roof, and no walls either. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
ChuckWedel
Solver / Others, Per the photos attached, this is what I get. There is a shed roof, but when set the height to the height of the rest of the roof, it goes back to 12/12 pitch. The wall are set to full gable walls on the sides and High Shed / Gable Wall on the end. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.
solver
Open one of the outside roof planes and get its ridge height. Open the center roof plane, lock the pitch and enter the ridge height. It should raise up and you should see at least the front wall.
ChuckWedel
Solver, How do you lock the roof plane?
solver
No idea what your version looks like, or if it has these options.
ChuckWedel
Solver, IT WORKED! The buttons don't say 'lock' on them, but they are locked. The wall on the left is there (looking from the front to the back), but no back wall, and no wall on the right. Any ideas on that? THANK YOU!
