WhimsicalMale 0 Posted July 15, 2020 Hello, Hope I can explain this well enough to illustrate the issue. (adding images) There is a main living area with vaulted ceilings There is an addition (screened-in porch) with a full gable wall I'd like the main living area to have the vault from the main roof...but the gable wall addition is carving out it's own vault. I'd like the "V" in the main space to be vaulted per the main roof area...not having a niche ceiling carved out because of the addon porch. Ideas/help? Thank you for your time! solver 617 Posted July 15, 2020 Answers often depend on which title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2018, 2019 etc) you are using. You can help everyone by adding that info to your signature (see below for how to turn them on) by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left. Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it. And, turn on signature display too. ---- Resources for self help: The built in Help System (always a good place to start) Getting Started Knowledge Base YouTube Home Designer - Getting Started - Setting Preferences and Defaults Watch on YouTube: http://youtu.be/s-TcAHsiMjg?hd=1
solver 617 Posted July 15, 2020 Suite is limited so here is a way -- maybe not the best way, to cover things. Place a soffit with a molding along the wall. Adjust the molding so it becomes the ceiling surface. A bit tedious, but it seems to work.
WhimsicalMale 0 Posted July 15, 2020 Thank you Eric! You totally understood what I was asking and your solution is best I can do with home designer. This may take me awhile, but I will try your suggestion. I watched the video and I'm not as savvy as you on the program...but I'll do my best. I appreciate you.
