Roof Trouble - Can't Make The Front Look Right - Please help!

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I'm working on recreating my house that we're currently building through a builder.  I am having the hardest time getting my roof line right.

Here is how my roof is SUPPOSED to look.

Here's where I've gotten so far:

What I can't figure out how to do is that peak. Every time I mess with the rooflines it messes up the entire house.

Anyone have any tips or tricks?  I've also attached my plan for those who are *far* better than I am at this.

You have changed the roof defaults incorrectly.

Consider using typical pitch in inches instead of degrees.

Go to Edit>Reset To Defaults and select Roof Directives in Walls (on All Floors).

Fix your overhangs -- they are not 4", and then set walls to Full Gable where needed.

You will need to post better images of the roof for more help. Maybe a google image showing it from above.

So this is where i'm having trouble - which walls am I resetting to full gable?  Is there a way to separate the wall in the front that I'm not aware of?

The ones with a gable above them.

You can break the wall with the Wall break tool.

Also read about the Gable/Roof Line tool.

Check out the YouTube roof videos linked below too.

And, I see you have Pro 2020, but ...

You can help everyone by adding this info to your signature (see below for how to turn them on) by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left.

Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it.

And, turn on signature display too.
