nodrog 0 Posted March 25, 2019 Can anyone tell me what the components of the Floor Structure(L) are? (example: 2x12 + 5/4 + 1/2" sheet rock) I am having difficulty relating this to my actual slab home built in Houston in the year 2000.
solver 625 Posted March 25, 2019 The standard floor structure is 3/4" OSB, and 11-7/8" I-Joist. 12 minutes ago, nodrog said: I am having difficulty relating this to my actual slab home built in Houston in the year 2000. You should build a slab for your first floor, if that's what you are asking about.
nodrog 0 Posted March 25, 2019 No, I am not asking about the slab. Why is the Floor Structure(L) set at 12 5/8" ? It is a constant variable that should be changeable for each floor. Why is it 12 5/8" ? Do I I need to adjust my Finished Floor(K) to account for this arbitrary constant?
solver 625 Posted March 25, 2019 Only Pro has the ability to change framing -- other titles are stuck with the default. If you need a thicker floor, then yes, adjust the finish floor thickness.
