Importing a DWG File (Surveyor's Layout w Elevational Data)

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm a very early version hobbyist with those basic skills now trying to catch up with CA Pro '2019. I'm into the Manual, numerous training videos, uTube videos, etc.

Specifically, one CA training video describes the process for importing a dwg file as: File>Import>DWG. When attempting this, no dwg option presents on the drop down screen for importing. I see a dxf---pdf---picture formats---etc. But no dwg file extension option???

Any ideas?

I see you said CA Pro '2019, but ... (and it's best to say Pro '2019 so no confusing with the Chief Architect branded products.)

Answers often depend on which title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2018, 2019 etc) you are using.

You can help everyone by adding this info to your signature (see mine for an example) by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left.

Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it.

And, turn on signature display too.

The built in Help System (always a good place to start)

Make sure you are looking at Home Designer videos and not Chief Architect videos.
