Kbird1 Posted September 19, 2015 Share Posted September 19, 2015 Eric is correct , this is because it is against Code to have different riser heights on the same staircase (tripping hazard) , hence the need to use one of the workarounds if needed. I'm reconstructing the existing construction in order to have a fresh pallet for renovation. It's a 1912 row house so there are quite a few inconsistencies with modern code.
