chrisp69
I'm trying to replicate a gable roof on an existing structure, but having problems. I can't seem to make the pitch 6/12 on the reverse gable, when I change it the whole roof changes. I'm also having a problem keeping the ridge in line with the different pitches. I tried using breakwall tool to change pitch on the same wall but that doesn't seem to work. Here are some plan pics and actual pics
solver
The 3rd and 4th image will not load. I can see the thumbnail but not the larger image, and need to see it to help.
Kbird1
same issue here , edit the post and delete those two pics and reattach them both ( if not they aren't same) you could also add the plan file to the post so we can see what you have so far. solver
Pictures show up fine now. "I can't seem to make the pitch 6/12 on the reverse gable" What are you calling a "reverse gable"?
chrisp69
Just a gable @ 90 degrees from the main ridge.
Kbird1
post your plan and let us try it............ In HDA can you select Roof Planes and change their pitch? ie select LH side gable roof plane and change it to 6/12 ( I'm thinking HDA has limited Roof plane manipulation but maybe not?) is the gable forward of the main house wall? , looks like it in your photo but not on your plan.... in which case you need to use invisible walls (room divider) to force the roof to build out there M. chrisp69
When i select the wall with the front gable, and change the pitch to 6/12 the rest of the roof changes from the 11/12 to 6/12 also. Yes the gable does protrude past front wall a little, but didn't get that far yet. Was just playing with the roof pitches first. Thanks Chris
Kbird1
not sure I understand , as the front wall is (should be) marked "full Gable" , and so you can't change it's pitch. It appears to be using the default roof pitch of 11/12 at the moment. Post the plan , as we are only guessing otherwise........ M.
solver
Good luck Post an accurate plan as Mick suggested, along with some side views of that front gable. It's important to have a good understanding of exactly what you are trying to model. You will need to coerce the program into building the roof and details will matter. Kbird1
with the plan and everything at its correct sizes etc it's worth looking at but it is too hard to guess and the details will make a big difference , yes ..... , it looks like a tricky one to me even with Manual Roofs which HDA doesn't have.
