    Wall Coverings

I'm trying to get vinyl shake siding onto the gable of this house but not above or outside the porch roof or on the first floor walls. I'm guessing I need to use the wall covering dialog but I still can't get it figured out. Pretty much the entire area directly under the porch roof and above the first floor plate. Any help is appreciated. GILLIAM.plan
  2. Does anybody have an idea how to create a foundation that looks like this under a deck?
  3. For some reason the full return doesn't generate in in any overviews. It does show up on the floor plan though. Can anybody fill me in why? The homeowner wants a gable on that side so I inserted a wall break in line with the interior wall and set it to gable end. If I bump that section of wall out, the return will generate in overview. Not sure why this is happening considering I did the exact same thing on the backside of the house without this problem. BRUCE THOMPSON ADDITION.plan
  4. Would you mind telling me which tools I need to fix the roof manually? My primary problem in fixing roof issues is not knowing which tools I need to utilize to fix the problem.
  5. I'm drawing a small addition for a contractor and have run into a road block on making the existing roof look correct. The top ridge line shouldn't have the step down that you see in the snips. Auto roof did this when I added a roof over the deck area. This is how the roof looks using strictly the autobuild roof. I have taken a couple shots at fixing it manually; however, I am almost completely helpless if I can't get a roof to look right with auto roof on. I always get close, but can't get all of the planes to join. I'm also a little puzzled as to why auto roof did this to the main ridge but that is aside the point. Any pointers on how to fix this troublesome little spot? I'm using Pro 2016 64 bit on Windows 10 BRUCE THOMPSON.plan
  6. I do takeoffs for homeowners and builders as part of my job at my building supply. If you have a plan, I can do one for you for a fee. I normally don't charge, but I must since I have no potential to furnish the materials.
  7. Can anybody demonstrate this process in further detail? I've got my slab in place but I have no idea how "create a slab with the hole in the middle using the break line tool"
  8. HUGE thanks guys. That was on the money Solver. I guess I need more practice with custom roof planes instead of trying to build everything through the auto roof builder
  9. Yep the gables on the front. Sorry, in Alabama dormers are pretty loosely defined. Solver, that is exactly what Im looking for. Care to elaborate on that for me?
  10. This is a person's house I'm modeling with a storage building on the side. As I've noted in the plan file, the shed roof covering the screen porch and room #2 are all one single plane. I tried following the bumpout instructions on the screen porch but I encounter error messages about the shared wall between the porch and room#2. My customer doesn't mind for her purposes but it is personally driving me nuts that I can't figure this one out. TIA LEE HOGGLE.plan
  11. I have been wrestling with this style dormer for a while now and cannot figure it out it is on a 1.5 story house and there is only attic space where this dormer is located. Any help is much appreciated. I am trying to create the dormers featured in the pictures below. DAG PEYTON.plan
