  1. OK - When you (left mouse button) pick a start point, do you hold the left mouse button down until you pick a second point- and so on to all other points? ArchiCAD, Revit, AutoCAD - point selection is different. The left mouse button selects or clicks on the points without having to be holding mouse button down between points. That's it in brief.
  2. Why can't it be modelled in place with available tools? You're talking a framed shelf - right?
  3. I know this subject has been tabled before however I still don't understand the reasoning put forward by CA support - so Ill ask it again of this forum of users... Why is it that the normal CAD point selection using the left mouse button, is not available in either Home Designer or Chief Architect. Instead we have this point and hold method with the left mouse button. I asked support on this topic a while back and I was told that CA has the regular left mouse button point selection and HD does not. (cause it's DIY) My CA demo - has same mouse button point and hold as my HDPro2024 that I use (nearly) every day. Is there a particular pointing devise (out there) that the current method of point and hold is best suited to? If so, what is it. Does anyone know of it, or use it maybe? Jeff.
  4. I just created a storey for the parapet and select or create a wall type for the job of parapet, change the height of wall in elevation to suit lower height. Adjust roof in plan to extents you want at any level. Or, use the change to next level button to move roof line to parapet level for better visibility whilst editing. Worked for me. Hey and I don't profess to be an expert here. (Image of single-story parapet below.) Jeff
  5. Sounds like a job for 'custom splashback tool. Search the data base for it. There was a great example building portal frames using it. Jeff.
  6. Typical isn't it. Although, I usually draw a bit of the new wall (or whatever) to see if its done the mods i'd made- thus checking the rebuild is correct; Sometimes ive experienced no changes for the new changes - if you get me? Also is the F12 key relevant, does it do what its setup to do? I also have tried it longhand - via the menu - Build\Floor\Rebuild Walls\Floors\Ceilings\ For what its worth - These have been my experiences. Jeff.
  7. OK - when everything else fails - think 'Rooms'; everything on the floor plan is based on configured rooms - correctly. Seems my balcony was not configured correctly with balustrades etc. as a room and hence once I fixed that, everything else worked perfectly - the way it should. So as for the unknown wall that would not delete - I simply have it hidden from view. Thanks.
  8. Thanks Scott, but it still remains having tried that. Any more suggestions? Happy to forward my plan file for your perusal? Jeff.
  9. I like your configuration of roof lines. Looks pretty good - not sure I get the issue though? Jeff.
  10. I've attached a plan file underway on a dwelling/house; Actually - file is more than 14Mb - so I can email it direct to anyone who is interested..... The third image below shows the current plan file camera 2 view and these subject wall, beams and posts and balustrade panels that have moved; Also included two previous images before what is now happening with a wall, floor and balustrade objects; If you view Camera 2 to locate the yellow wall - it needs to be deleted but remains and wont be deleted; I have no idea where it has come from. This yellow wall. And the 2nd floor balcony is a mystery also. I can usually sort these things out but this has me bamboozled....mystified... Any suggestions or instructions please would be greatly appreciated Thanks. Jeff.
  11. In the wall specification amongst other items is at the bottom of the list an item 'Object Information'.... Already filled in under the Description item is %automatic_description%.. Now I gather the % sign entrys define something - - but it's unfamiliar language to me; Where can I get an understanding of this information entry? Does anyone care to offer some instruction on what and how it all works please? It looks like a powerful use of whatever it is using and I am interested in the application to material lists. From previous questions - materials lists are low on the list of interest? (Or so it seems, I may be wrong.) Is there a technical use of the % sign in object info. that CA users generally are aware of? Little on offer in reference manual. Thanks, Jeff.
  12. Hi there 'Pittmans' - maybe change the area allocation inclusions for the spray can material applicator maybe? I assume the Architectural version has this feature? Jeff.
  13. I am always amazed at simple solutions offered here by so many cluey users. The Forum is a great fall-back. This looks to me like some input is also needed from Mr. 'Solver'? Jeff.
