jlogan02
I thought I'd try to make a house number yard sign from a soffit and then add numbers to what would be the front face. That part was easy. How do I create a group or block of it? Or is there another approach? J. Logan Home Designer Pro 2021
DavidJPotter
Two ways: 1. make an image that graphically displays what you wish to be displayed then import that image into your Library Browser for application to a soffit that will then show in Standard camera views. 2. There is a downloadable 3D letter/number library browser file that can be used to spell out in 3D letter and number sequences in any camera type. jlogan02
Thanks for the quick response. When you say make an image. Would that be an image outside of Home Designer Pro, saved as an image file (bmp, jpg, png)? I considered the download.
jlogan02
That was the goal from the beginning, but I can't seem to get the architectural block tool when selecting the front view of the sign. The tool does appear if I select a top view of the sign. There are no numbers attached with the top view of the soffit because I have no idea how to do that. I don't think it can be done. Unless there's a way to rotate 3D object in plan view and I'm just not seeing that option. My 30+ yrs. of AutoCAD brains say you want the 3D block to insert in plan view so when a 3d view is generated you see the front, rear, and visible sides. Which means pick the soffit as viewing it from the top when creating the block. Is there a tool that allows me to rotate a 3D object. Both of DJPs offering make sense and I can accomplish either of them quite easily.
