sdkirkish
I just upgraded to Home Designer Pro 2016, and cannot open plans created with HD Pro 2015. When I try to open a Pro 2015 plan, the progress bar stalls at about the 2/3 point, and then PC memory consumption starts quickly ramping up to 100%, consuming all resources and hanging the PC, and the file never opens. However, I can open a new file, create a test plan, save it, and successfully reopen it. I am using the 64-bit PC version. I have tried repairing the installation without success, and I uninstalled and then reinstalled the 2016 version, followed by a reboot, also without success. I have also tried opening two different plans, again without success. Any suggestions how I can fix this problem? Thank you, Steve
Kbird1
I would call Customer Service on Mon. As not too many have 2016 yet , Tech Support would appreciate a copy of the Plans I'd think so they can try and recreate the issue too. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/company/contact.html http://support.homedesignersoftware.com/ then use the green "new case" button M. katalyst777
I downloaded the trial of Pro 2016 and didn't have any trouble opening my Pro 2015 plans, so I second the recommendation to contact the company directly.
samcad
I am going to wait a few months before I upgrade. For now I will use Pro 2015 and retain those files. Maybe start any new projects with 2016 version, to be safe.
Kbird1
This is the 1st report of anything like this I have seen here or on Chieftalk , so it maybe computer specific and only Tech Support can help with that. M.
ethanjsmith82
Just FYI it appears they've already released an update for 2016. I was just prompted to download/install when I launched the program today. I have no idea what issues it addresses though.
