Unexpected Wall Resize Snapping Behavior

I just upgraded from Home Designer Architectural 2020 to Pro 2023 and have unexpected behavior when trying to change the thickness of a wall. The first figure shows original thickness with a 3" extension of the small wall as desired. When I change the thickness of the small wall to 9-1/2", it snaps the end to the edge of the adjacent wall. I cannot move this small wall back to the original position as it keeps snapping back. I have changed snapping behaviors to try to stop this, but nothing works. Changing the length using dimensions results in the same behavior. Not sure what I'm not doing right to keep this wall from moving.

I have no idea what you want to happen.

 

How about starting with a before screen capture, then using CAD lines to draw what you want the walls to be like.

 

It's helpful to note which wall you are referring to, or simply select it prior to a screen capture.

And attaching a simple plan file giving someone something to work with is also helpful.
