Stairs under deck

Recommended Posts

I would like to wrap an L shaped stairway under a deck.   The stairs are connected to a deck 10 feet above the terrain.  The stairs parallel the outside edge of the deck to a landing 16 inches above the terrain.  I would like the stairs to turn toward a sidewalk that is under the deck.   I cannot seem to put any of the stairwell under the deck. Deck railings and edges seem to go crazy when stairs continue toward the deck.  Help?

Answers often depend on which title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2018, 2019 etc) you are using.

You can help everyone by adding that info to your signature (see below for how to turn them on) by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click Account Settings, then Signature on the left.

Doing so makes it always available, and keeps others from having to hunt for it.

And, turn on signature display too.

A couple of pictures (screen captures) and your plan file -- close the software first, will help others help you.

Stairs are programmed to be drawn on the level below the deck, you can turn on the "Reference Display" so you can see, in plan view, where the deck is but the key is that the stairs are drawn below the deck to the deck level.

Thanks for your kind help!  Been offline for a couple of days.  Using Home designer 2021 Pro.   The stairs will not extend below the deck on Level 0 for a deck floor that is on Level 1.   The stairs stop at the perimeter of the deck.
