Boday40
Hey, Trying to get started with my Architectural 2019 and really struggling with a fundamental. I can't see how to have any control over my layers/ views. 1. What is the difference between a "layer" and "view" 2. I've have used a different program (PUNCH- Home Design) for years but thought I was upgrading to this product. All I want to do is create separate "views" for electrical layout, plumbing layout, etc. and be able to have different text on each "view".... I see how to create a new view but I can't name it or make it any different from the existing views. Any help would be appreciated. Is "Architectural" capable of this? Thank you, Bo
Boday40
Hi, I'm using Home Designer Architectural 2019...
solver
Layers control what is visible in each view. Home Designer products lack the ability to define Layer Sets like the Chief Architect products do, so you will need to manually change your Layer Display Settings for each view. For your electrical plan, turn on walls and electrical (and any other required layers), for example.
Boday40
Hmmm.... That is frustrating... so what is the point of the "new plan view" if each of the new views is exactly the same as the other view? And how about Text? if I want different text on each view am I supposed to rewrite it? I fear I have bought the wrong program... thanks.
Boday40
Seem like this would be a basic feature in an architecture program.... but maybe I'm looking for something different. I wonder if I can return this program. thanks for your input. Bo
