Object Align and Object Break Tools

Hi All,

 

I'm new to the forum and currently evaluating HD Pro for purchase. In trying to detail my foundations, I could not find a break line tool to cut off the rest of the sections. I saw a video of using the CAD tools to do it. That looks very demanding and is not straight forward. Is there a better way to break an object in HD Pro. Also I was looking for a tool for left, right and centre justify two or more objects.

Please explain what you are wanting to do. What is "cut off the rest of the sections"?

The center tool works with multiple objects.

 

What do you want to "justify", and how?

Hi Solver, thanks for your response. I mean break line similar to the once at the end of this wall and joist

 

For the alignment, I mean aligning these tow objects to right or left as the case may be.

The break lines take seconds to do, not sure what the video shows.

 

Draw a Rectangular Polyline and shape one edge as required. This is used to mask any lines you do not want to see.

 

Trace over the break shape on the polyline with a line to form the break line. 

 

Select the Rectangular Polyline and change its border color to white.

 

Use the same idea to form the dirt, only change the fill as required.

 

As for alignment tools, Home Designer does not have any. You will often need to draw CAD lines and use dimensions or a tool like Point to Point Move, or manually drag the object, snapping it to something.
