Slide in Range Backsplash

I need to add the countertop backsplash behind my slide-in range. When I select the object it doesn't give me an option to change the backsplash because its not a cabinet I guess. The wall backsplash is correct. It's just the few inches above the range that I need to change.

I normally turn off the automatic cabinet (upper and lower) backsplash and use a Custom Backsplash.

 

This gives complete control.

 

You can also use a Custom Backsplash to patch in the part you need.

you can also make a base cabinet the width of the range ( 30"?)  and make it Dept the same as the Backsplash tile (1/4") and make the countertop overhang 0" on all sides (uniform) and slide it in against the Wall.

 

Then slide the Range in against it ...

 

Since you have Pro,  Eric's idea of the Custom Backsplash works well too.
