dlucas10
Hello! I have a plan for a home theater, and it's been great to use Home Designer to build it out, then put that in the actual build. It's been great! The other day, I upgraded to 2018 Pro. I did this because I thought it would give me the ability to do angles and use something like protractor. What I'm trying to accomplish is to mock up where the speakers will be in the theater, and the angles of them from the listening position the speakers are on the walls. I also will have speakers in the ceiling and there is a recommendation on the angle from the listening position. I can't figure out how to do this in Home Designer Pro.. Does anyone have any thoughts? I hope I didn't spend the money on Pro for no reason.. Thanks! Dave
solver
I don't understand what you want to do. Here I have a wall and 2 speakers. I placed a point where someone will sit and after drawing lines, found an angle.
dlucas10
I'm trying to mimic this in the theater to make sure the placement is within Dolby spec. https://www.dolby.com/us/en/guide/speaker-setup-guides/7.1.4-overhead-speaker-setup-guide.html I think I can do what you said for the other speakers, but not sure how to accomplish the overhead? solver
Isn't this the same thing -- just done in elevation instead of plan?
dlucas10
Hmmm, can you draw lines in elevation? When I got to elevation, it's greyed out. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?
solver
I can with Premier -- don't remember about Pro. If not, just draw in plan and pretend it's in elevation.
