tarkmyler
I have a lot with a considerable grade. I want to start with a subterranean garage and then add two floors. This means that the foundation level for 2/3 of the house is at level 2 which is the approximate grade at the top of the lot. I just can't figure it out. There doesn't appear to be any way to make CA understand that there is foundation on two levels. I'm also having a heck of a time with stairs. I can't seem to figure out how to add stairs without railings. These are interior stairs with landings that will go between the subterranean garage and the two floors above. I'm also going to add an elevator - there doesn't appear to be any way to do that. Pointers to documentation or tips would be great. solver
You referred to CA, if you are using Home Designer, this is the correct spot, otherwise see ChiefTalk. Please fill out your signature in any case -- see below. --------------It helps if we know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2014, 2015 etc) you are using. DavidJPotter
First off software does not "understand" anything, it is a sophisticated but purely mechanical device which you must always guide or goad to a desired result. Stairs and all other objects in HD Pro have dialog boxes where you can control certain aspects of their appearance, take a look at the stair dialog to see. Please post a copy of your plan so others may then help in detail. DJP
