Front Door not flush with exterior wall

Recommended Posts

Hi - hoping someone can help.

I am using Home Designer Pro and am self-taught.

For some reason, when I place an exterior/front door in a wall, it is set back from the Exterior wall and the floor from inside can be seen. I have switched off 'recessed' but cannot get it to move forward.....why is this and what can I do?

HELP!

Alison

It helps if we know what title (Suite, Pro etc) and version (2014, 2015 etc) you are using. You can add this info to your signature by clicking on your user name at the top right of the page, click My Settings, then Signature on the left.

This is very similar to my post from 11 December titled controlling door recessing.. It would appear that an inward opening doors always end up on the inside of the main layer, even when you select non recessed. The only way I found was to make the door open outwards but then this makes the floor plan incorrect. If you opt for a swing both ways door (!) you can get it in the middle of the main layer. It's a shame there's no inset option as there is for windows!
