FlyGuy09
I have a rough house designed and added terrain to the existing plan. When selecting Build Terrain, the porch railings all disappear. Can someone please tell me why this is happening? I am using Home Designer Pro 2025. scottharris
Is it under the terrain? Maybe post your plan.
FlyGuy09
Thanks for your consideration on this. I have attached the plan. If you add a Terrain PerimAttempt 2.planeter around the house, then Build Terrain, you'll see what I'm talking about. All of the Post to Beams disappear but the floors of the porches are still visible. While looking at the plan, perhaps you can also tell me why when adding a window to the sloping attic wall and selecting "Match Roof" for window, nothing happens. Thanks again! scottharris
On your porch railing walls, uncheck the option that they are 'terrain retaining walls' (they are meant to be at the level of the terrain).
CarrieS
It looks like something about this particular scenario prevents the "Match Roof" setting from detecting the roof slope. Placing a window in one of the outside walls, setting it to "Match Roof" and then copying it to the desired location would work since the pitches are the same. Or manually typing in the desired left and right heights in the Window Specification> Shape panel would also work. When you encounter scenarios like this, where it appears you've done everything correctly but the software is not working as expected don't forget that we have a Technical Support Team willing to help. They have a direct line to our developers and can report anomalous behavior so we can improve the software. https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/ https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00717/using-the-technical-support-center.html Carrie
