DIYPete
When I place an Apron sink in to an appropriate Base cabinet, and I want the countertop to have an opening there as the edge of the countertop should be over the edges of the sink, the countertop covers the opening. Is this a design flaw?
scottharris
You will need to use a custom countertop. See this how-to article https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00890/placing-an-apron-sink.html
DIYPete
I had already tried that, but it still didn't look right. I believe the issue is that the sink is (true) 30" x 18" x 10" and requires a 33" base cabinet according to the sink specs. I will continue playing with it. Well, the final solution was a custom countertop and fillers on the base cabinet. It doesn't provide an accurate solution to the materials list, but it looks good. Vikki_WA
1st, edit the base cabinet to turn the blank panel or drawer panel at the top of the cabinet into an opening that is high enough (low enough?) to accommodate the height of the sink. Make sure there is nothing above that opening such as a blank area or separation. Make sure to remove any countertop edge moldings from that cabinet as well. This method works well for me.
