  1. How would I add this type of column to the library? http://www.cheapcolumn.com/column_square_tapered.html or this: https://www.google.com/search?q=craftsman+columns&espv=2&es_sm=90&tbm=isch&imgil=0Vss0VTPnr42-M%253A%253BPy6vPgeZvyYprM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.pagliacco.com%25252Fcol_craftsman_specify.html&source=iu&usg=__V0zVIedaAQ1EbbF473S9pu0ad3U%3D&sa=X&ei=vZ77U4zSKMGI7Aa7nYHoBw&ved=0CEgQ9QEwAA&biw=1366&bih=645
  2. Thanks David, I deleted the foundation and then rebuilt. Problem solved.
  3. How can I remove this strange roof that appears on knee wall for the detached garage? I just deleted the roof and it disappeared and when I rebuilt the roof it reappeared. POO!
  4. Thanks, I'm all set for now. I manually drew the plan.
  5. Well, upgrading to Pro doesn't seem realistic since I'm 90-95% through with my plans. It's been over 20 years since I broke out my mechanical pencil and templates. The wall section view is the only drawing that I was missing and I wanted all the drawings to match but it isn't worth $400 to upgrade for 1 drawing.
  6. It would seem that HD, as powerful as it is,could show a stud and a couple of other items to complete the wall cross section. When I was using AutoCad I could make a rectangle by picking the rectangle icon and type in DX=4,96 and I would have a stud 4" wide by 96" long. If I wanted more studs I would pick the item and copy it.
  7. I was wondering if there is a way to create a wall section view to use for approvals? This would include the footings, poured concrete wall, sill plate, engineered floor system, wall studs, top plate, trusses and roof materials.
  8. What information is necessary for plan approvals re: building permits and info for the tradesmen? A floor plan, elevations for all sides, etc. Where could I find and show the construction details like footings, poured walls, cross section of the walls etc.?

    Nice bricks

Try Windows 8. That will solve all your problems. LOL

    Save as

Thanks, I was hoping that it worked that way.

    Save as

If I'm doing a complex change and have to sign off before I've completed my revision can I "Save As" and continue the next time and if so is the the original. before the revision, saved as it was the day before?

    Nice bricks

I did that when I clicked on the wall to open the item and went to the exterior wall and then did as you suggested and picked the brick and seemed to work for me, not the first time but the second time.
  13. Thanks, that did it. I also didn't realize that the display tools are only good for the floor that you are viewing, interesting.
  14. Could someone tell me what the heavy black line is on my elevation? It looks like a border.
  15. So I take it these pastels with white letters is acceptable to everyone else?
  16. What I'm considering doing is borrowing one of those art projectors. http://www.amazon.com/Artograph-EZ-Tracer-Art-Projector/dp/B007VTPATO/ref=sr_1_1?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1402522456&sr=1-1&keywords=art+projector and then enlarging to the scale necessary 1/4"=1'. using the glass house view.
  17. Is there a way to change the change the colors on the Home talk forum? The pastel blues and grays don't have enough definition for me to view easily.
  18. I'm looking for the same thing. My builder said that the floor plans were nice but he wanted elevations to scale. I think for siding estimates.
  19. Thank you Jo Ann. I finally know what "soffits" are and how they can be manipulated.
  20. I'll only have one step, going from a 9' concrete wall to a 3' concrete wall with 6' studded wall above that. Where and how is the "soffet" applied?
  21. I guess that's my problem, I have Suite 2014 and not the other programs listed at the top of the solution. Does that mean I'm dead in the water?
  22. I plan to have a daylight basement with approximately half of the walls 9' high and half would have 3' concrete with 6' conventionally framed stud wall. I haven't found where I can do that. Any thoughts?
  23. Yes, Kbird1, that was my problem. I am now able to fix that roof problem.
  24. How can I get the roof line on the garage to line up?
